I had the privilege of partnering with District Vision to create their first paid audio product: a sixteen-part meditation course that serves as both an at-home introduction to meditation and a guided running meditation course.
Inspired by the teachings of Esalen Institute founder Mike Murphy, Mike Spino, and George Mumford’s The Mindful Athlete—key influences in the 1960s West Coast wellness boom—this project blended two passions close to my heart: mindfulness and movement.
District Vision co-founder Max Vallot inspired a vision that I brought to life through scripting and recording sessions at home in New York City. I extensively tested the content in the woods of Long Island, meticulously iterating—re-recording hours of audio, editing for flow, and refining original content. I prototyped the course using iPod Nanos in the serene woods of upstate New York, perfecting each session before final post-production and publication. The course was packaged into an RSS feed and launched on the site, elevated by stunning design courtesy of Comme des Garçons illustrator Filip Pagowski.
Having spent time with Dr. Spino and Mr. Murphy on retreat in California, I learned firsthand the teachings of Dr. Spino before his passing in 2025. I applied these principles during the Boston Marathon, achieving a personal best of 2:47:17—a testament to the power of mindful running.
The course was warmly received, resonating with runners and mindfulness enthusiasts alike, and was later integrated into District Vision’s first collaboration with New Balance, where I was brought on to script and advise, amplifying its reach and impact.
This project remains a highlight of my creative journey, blending my seemingly idiosyncratic interests in wellness, technology, personal development, and performance.
